

ISU President Jae Youl Kim has been elected President of the Winter Olympic Federations (WOF), succeeding Ivo Ferriani, at the organisation’s latest meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.
ISU President Jae Youl Kim, who was elected to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board earlier this year (read here) - having been nominated by the Winter Olympic Federations (WOF) - and earned a second term as ISU President in Tenerife, Spain, in June (read here), was elected as a result of his passion and commitment to sports on snow and ice and his pledge to strengthen collaboration between the International Sports Federations who are WOF members.

Jae Youl Kim said: “Sport on snow and ice has a very special character and I look forward to working with all Winter Olympic Federations members to boost its standing in the modern world. During his tenure as ISU President, Jae Youl Kim has overseen a period of continued transformation in his time in charge of the ISU to date, reforming governance and developing skating and its formats in line with modern needs. The athlete-first approach is a hallmark of a career to date that has included a lifetime of service to winter sports governance allied with proven business acumen.
