/!\ IMPORTANT, COVID-19: ISU CONGRESS 2020 POSTPONEMENT TO 2021 /!\
Further to the ISU letter dated March 24, 2020, the ISU Members have, by a wide majority, voted in favour of postponing the 2020 Congress to June 2021 (the detailed voting results will be sent to ISU Members). After consultation with the Figure and Speed Skating Association of Thailand, the Council decided that the 2021 Congress of the Union will be held in Phuket, Thailand at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa tentatively from Monday, May 31 through Friday, June 4, 2021. A formal invitation by ISU Circular Letter to ISU Members will follow in due course.

The 58th ISU Ordinary Congress was planned to take place in Phuket Thailand on June 8 – 12, 2020. Over 350 delegates were expected to meet at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa, including ISU Office Holders and delegations from ISU Member Federations.
Considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the continued negative developments world-wide, the ISU Council has concluded that maintaining the 2020 ISU Congress on the planned dates of June 8-12, 2020 was no longer an option. The same applied to a short-term postponement until later in the summer of 2020. The ISU Council has instead considered a postponement of the Congress to June 2021.

The 57th ISU Ordinary Congress will take place in Seville Spain on June 4 – 8, 2018. Over 350 delegates are expected to meet at the Barcelo Renacimiento, including ISU Office Holders and delegations from ISU Member Federations.

The International Skating Union’s 56th Ordinary Congress concluded on June 10, 2016 in Dubrovnik (CRO). Over 350 Delegates from 85 ISU Member federations were present to vote on over 370 proposals and to elect candidates to ISU Office. The Congress was officially opened by ISU President Mr. Ottavio Cinquanta, who made a special acknowledgement of thanks to the Croatian Skating Federation for its organization of the Congress
