The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2019/20 features talented junior skaters from all over the world and provides young skaters aged 13 to 19 (21 for the male ice dance and pair skating partners) with the opportunity to compete at a high international level. The 2019/20 season marks the 23rd edition of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating that was introduced in 1997.

Several of the world’s best Junior Skaters return to the circuit this season including two time ISU World Junior Pairs medalists Polina Kostiukovich/Dmitri Ialin (RUS), ISU Junior Grand Prix Final Champion Stephen Gogolev (CAN), 2018 ISU Junior Grand Prix silver medalist Petr Gumennik (RUS) and ISU Junior Grand Prix Finalists Avonley Ngyuen/Vadym Kolesnik (USA). At the same time, newcomers such as U.S. Champion Alysa Liu are eager to leave their mark on the circuit.

The best six Skaters / Couples in each discipline qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Turin (ITA), December 5-8, 2019. Skaters earn points according to their placements in order to qualify for the Final.

Selection Criteria 

More than 300 young skaters from over 50 ISU Members are expected to compete in this year’s series. Each ISU Member is entitled to enter competitors for the series while the number of their entries depends on the result of the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2019.

Prize Money & Points

Competitors collect points in their ISU Junior Grand Prix events towards the qualification for the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final. The following point system based on the ranking has been established to determine the qualifiers for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final:

The Global Prize money per individual event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is

US$22.500,00 awarded to each medal winner for each category as follows:

ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final – Torino, Italy - December 5 to 8

The ISU Junior Grand Prix Figure Skating Series started in 1997. It includes seven events and the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. The Series features some of the up and coming Skaters of the world and provides young skaters aged 13 to 19 (21 for the male Ice Dance and Pair Skating partners) with the opportunity to compete at a high international level. A points system based on the ranking has been established to determine the qualifiers for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Points are obtained according to the results in each of the seven events and only the top six Skaters / Couples in each discipline can qualify for the Final. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is financed by the ISU Development Program.

Since 2011 all events of the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating are live streamed on the official ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating YouTube Channel. The 2018/19 season marks the 22nd edition of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating that was introduced in 1997.
