Skating Smart: “Pure As Ice” initiatives inspire young athletes across three ISU Junior Events
14 Apr 2025
ISU Junior World Cup Short Track , Bormio, Italy (Nov 8–10, 2024)
The ISU Junior World Cup Short Track wasn’t just about speed—it was a celebration of clean sport. The “Pure As Ice” outreach program brought together 116 participants from 15 countries, including South Korea, Canada, and Portugal, for a dynamic, interactive session. Focused on testing, TUEs, and supplements, the energy was electric as athletes and coaches engaged enthusiastically, proving they’re as sharp off the ice as on it.
ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships, Debrecen, Hungary (Feb 25–Mar 2, 2025)
At the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships, the "Pure As Ice" seminar reached 34 skaters from 17 countries, aged 14–21. Held in the skaters’ Mind Zone, near the warm-up area, the booth offered a calm, welcoming space for learning. Though tight schedules limited full participation, those who joined appreciated the relaxed setting, big screen, and photo booth.
ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships, Gothenburg, Sweden (Mar 7-8, 2025)
During the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships, 187 skaters from 9 teams took part in engaging and fun "Pure as Ice" seminars right in the hotel lobby. With a variety of open questions—especially around supplements and drinks—both skaters and team staff showed strong motivation to champion clean sport.
Across all three events, “Pure As Ice” initiatives proved that knowledge, like skating, starts young and moves fast.
