Requirements defined in the Technical Rules as valid for one season only are: Pattern Dances for International Competitions, Music requirements for Pattern Dances for International Competitions, Rhythms or themes, Required Elements (including Key Points and Key Point Features for Pattern Dance Elements) and guidelines for Short Dance, Required Elements for Free Dance.

The ISU Development Commission and the ISU Medical Commission are pleased to introduce a series of seminars that will focus on different aspects of the theme of "The Healthy Skater". The first seminar of the series is about injury prevention and will be presented on the occasion of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2018 in Milan.

The Finnish Figure Skating Association (FFSA) in co-operation with the International Skating Union (ISU) organize a four-year development project for single and ice dance coaches and skaters. Project includes yearly seminars held at the Finnish Sport Institute (Vierumäki), Finland.

Further to ISU Communication No. 1978 and after having received ISU Members’ applications, the ISU recognized Seminars for Referees and Judges in several countries.

This Communication summarizes the main general obligations of ISU Members, according to the ISU Statutes and according to established procedures.

All Officials who continue to meet the criteria as outlined in the Special Regulations and who, considering the period of time elapsed since their initial appointment, require re-certification are eligible for acceptance to the Frankfurt Seminar 2018 re-certification program.

Within the context of the hearing of the (Oswald) Disciplinary Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Skating Union (ISU) has received the verdicts of the IOC Disciplinary Commission for Russian Speed Skaters:

The ISU Development Program is one of the cornerstone of the Figure Skating and Speed Skating successes. For this reason, the ISU Development Commision has approved projects in several countries.

The ISU is organizing an International Ice Dance Development Training Seminar for Ice Dance Coaches and Couples of beginner, Novice and Junior skating level from Asia, Oceania, the Pacific region and South Africa.

The seminar will be organized by the ISU and The Royal Dutch Skating Federation (KNSB) in cooperation with the Center for Top Sports and Education (CTO) Heerenveen.

The media accreditations for the ISU European Figure Skating Championships taking place in Moscow Russia are now open.

ISU Members may send to the ISU Secretariat applications to host ISU Seminars for Ice Dance Referees and Judges in 2018 fulfilling the characteristics in this communication.
