It was even more special for Korea’s Young You at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Seoul as she became the first Korean figure skater to win a medal at an ISU Championship since the legendary Olympic Champion Yuna Kim was ISU World Figure Skating Champion in 2013. It was also You’s debut at an ISU senior-level Championship.

Initially launched in November 2019, the global digital campaign film was narrated by two-time World and seven-time European Figure Skating Champion Javier Fernández. Today, American Figure Skater Ashley Wagner, 2016 ISU World Figure Skating silver medalist and 2014 Olympic bronze Team medalist, joins the cause. She conveys a heartfelt message to encourage people to stay strong, support each other in creative and mindful ways and together, we will get #UpAgain, after facing one of the biggest challenges humankind has encountered in decades.

In support of those most affected by COVID-19, Olympic Ice Dancer Kaitlyn Weaver is producing and hosting a one-off talk show called Open Ice. Jordan Cowan, of On Ice Perspectives, is co-producing the project. It will feature some of the World’s best Skaters in the intimate setting of their own homes with the aim to raise funds for the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund the WHO. The International Skating Union (ISU) is supporting the project by Live Streaming it on the Skating ISU YouTube Channel on April 25, 2020, at 14:00 EST (20:00 CET, April 26 at 03:00 JST).
