Alena Kostornaia led the Russian “triple A team” to another podium sweep as competition wrapped up at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Graz (AUT) on Saturday. Anna Shcherbakova claimed the silver and the bronze went to Alexandra Trusova. All three competed in their first senior-level ISU Championships.
Russia’s World silver medalists Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov upset five-time and defending European Champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron of France to take their first European title at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Graz (AUT) on Saturday. Alexandra Stepanova/Ivan Bukin, also from Russia, claimed the bronze, their fourth European medal.
Aleksandra Boikova/Dmitri Kozlovskii skated off with their first European title and led Russia to the 16th clean sweep in Pair Skating at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Graz on Thursday. Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov moved up to take the silver, their sixth consecutive medal at Europeans. Daria Pavliuchenko/Denis Khodykin claimed their first medal, the bronze.

Dmitri Aliev of Russia stormed to gold with 26 points to spare to take the first European title for a Russian man since 2012. 16-year-old Artur Danielian, the youngest competitor in the Men’s event, made it one-two for Russia by clinching silver. Morisi Kvitelashvili earned the bronze, becoming the first Georgian man to win a medal at the European Figure Skating Championships.
Olympic silver medalists Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron of France edged Russia’s Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov by just 0.05 points in the Rhythm Dance as the ISU European Figure Skating Championships continued in Graz (AUT) on Thursday. Italians Charlene Guignard/ Marco Fabbri (ITA) are currently ranked third.

Michal Brezina of the Czech Republic, the most experienced skater in the field, clinched a narrow lead in the Men’s Short Program over Russia’s Dmitri Aliev as the ISU European Figure Skating Championships opened in Graz (AUT) on Wednesday. Europe’s top Figure Skaters are getting ready for the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2020 in Graz, Austria (January 21-27). 165 skaters from 33 ISU members have been entered for this 113th edition of the ISU European Championships: 35 Men, 38 Ladies, 19 Pair Skating couples and 27 Ice Dance couples. Only in the Ice Dance event five-time and reigning ISU European Figure Skating Champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron (FRA) are back and hope to defend their title.
