As 2018 comes to an end, the ISU President, Mr. Jan Dijkema, would like to address a message to all skating friends.

When you have a passion, it doesn’t matter where you come from and where you have to go. You follow your dream even if it means you have to leave your home and move to a foreign country which language you don’t speak and that has a very different culture. And when you share your passion with someone, it can become love.

Eteri Tutberidze has coached some of the most recent talents in Russian skating. In February 2018, she was the coach behind both the Ladies Olympic Champion and Olympic silver medallist.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series travelled the world. It went from Skate America in Everett, WA to Skate Canada in Laval, QC, on to the Grand Prix Helsinki, Finland and to NHK Trophy in Hiroshima, Japan before concluding with Rostelecom Cup in Moscow, Russia and Internationaux de France in Grenoble, to determine the top six skaters who would compete in the ISU Grand Prix Final in Vancouver, Canada. Having only the top skaters compete, makes for an extremely interesting competition filled with amazing performances and programs. Let's take a look back at some of the highlights.

The top six Junior skaters from each discipline faced each other during the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Vancouver (CAN). It was an exciting competition filled with young talent.

Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres of France soared to victory in the Pairs event as competition wrapped up at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Vancouver (CAN) on Saturday.

Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) struck gold as the Ice Dance event concluded at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final Saturday in Vancouver (CAN).

Anastasia Mishina/Aleksandr Galliamov came out on top in what was an all Russian Junior Grand Prix Pairs Final

Alena Kostornaia led the Russian Junior Ladies to a podium sweep at the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final on Saturday in Vancouver (CAN). 

Newcomer Rika Kihira of Japan stormed to the gold medal in the Ladies event at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Vancouver (CAN) on Saturday.

Reigning World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) added his second ISU Grand Prix Final title to his resume Friday in Vancouver (CAN).

China’s Cheng Peng/Yang Jin upset the favorites in the Pairs Short Program, edging Russians Natalia Zabiiako/Alexander Enbert and Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov for a narrow lead at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Vancouver (CAN) on Friday.

World silver medalists Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) danced to the lead in the Rhythm Dance.

Canada’s Stephen Gogolev came as a substitute into the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ended up stealing the show and skating off with the gold medal on home ice on Friday in Vancouver.

Sofia Shevchenko/Igor Eremenko clinched victory in the Junior Ice Dance event by the slimmest of margins and led Russia to a podium sweep at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final in Vancouver (CAN) on Friday.
