Three-time and reigning World Champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron of France are poised for gold following the Rhythm Dance. The Olympic silver medalists danced to a strong lead ahead of Russia’s Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov and Alexandra Stepanova/Ivan Bukin. All three teams set a new seasons best.

Defending World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) dominated in the Men’s Short Program as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships continued Thursday in Saitama (JPN). Teammate Jason Brown (USA) came second while two-time Olympic Champion Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) is currently ranked third.

The ISU has been made aware of a statement published on March 20 by All-That Sports, and subsequently by the Korea Skating Union on March 21 about an incident which happened between Ms. Mariah Bell and Ms. Eun Soo Lim, during their practice on March 20 at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships.

China’s Wenjing Sui/Cong Han soared to the Pairs gold medal as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) on Thursday. 

Today Eric Radford from Canada was elected to the ISU Athletes Commission as the Single and Pair Skating representative.

 Olympic Champion Alina Zagitova of Russia skated to the lead in an exciting Ladies Short Program as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships continued on Wednesday in Saitama (JPN). Kaori Sakamoto of Japan came second and Kazakhstan’s Elizabet Tursynbaeva is currently ranked third.

Russia’s Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov skated to the lead in the Pairs Short Program with the Chinese teams Wenjing Sui/Cong Han and Cheng Peng/Yang Jin following in second and third as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2019 opened in Saitama (JPN) on Wednesday.

During its latest meeting which took place on March 17-18, 2019 in Tokyo (JPN) the ISU Council decided to provisionally allot the ISU European Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2020 to Debrecen (HUN) which will be held on January 24-26, 2020.

Olympic and World Champions will take the ice for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2019 in Saitama, Japan, starting Wednesday this week. The ISU World Figure Skating Championships will be held in Saitama for the second time since 2014.

Miho Takagi (JPN) broke the 1:50 barrier in the Ladies’ 1500m on Sunday. Nao Kodaira (JPN) won the second 500m at the World Cup Final in Salt Lake City, and Irene Schouten (NED) surprised herself to win the Mass Start event. In the men's tournament, Japan won two gold medals , Tatsuya Shinhama (JPN) won the 500m and Ryosuke Tsuchiya (JPN) took his first individual World Cup gold in the Mass Start. Kjeld Nuis (NED) skated two world records.

Suzanne Schulting (NED) overtook Choi Min Jeong (KOR) as she became only the second European ever to win the Ladies’ World Short Track Championship, while Korea’s Lim Hyo Jun sealed the Men’s title by a huge margin in Sofia on Sunday.

USA’s Tomoki Hiwatashi has been competing on the international Junior circuit since fall 2015 and has had some ups and downs. However, the 19-year-old ended his junior career on the highest possible note by taking the title at the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2019 in Zagreb, Croatia.
