The Olympic Cauldron was lit by 2010 Olympic gold medalist and Korean super star Figure Skater Kim Yuna on Friday marking the start of the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
In total, fourteen skaters had the honor of leading their nation's delegation into the PyeongChang Olympic Stadium as flag bearers. For Speed Skating: Jan Smeekens (NED), Elena Rigas (DEN), Saskia Alusalu (EST), Pedro Causil (COL), Zbigniew Brodka (POL) and Konrad Nagy (HUN). The Short Trackers were: Cheyenne Goh (SGP), Arianna Fontana (ITA), Yang Zhou (CHN) and Abzal Azhgaliyev (KAZ). Finally four Figure Skating athletes: Julian Yee (MAS), Alexei Bychenko (ISR), Morisi Kvitelashvili (GEO) and Tessa Virtue /Scott Moir (CAN).
