World champion Nathan Chen (USA) cruised to the men’s gold, taking the title with 40 points to spare. The Czech Republic’s Michal Brezina claimed the silver, his first Grand Prix medal in four years, and Sergei Voronov of Russia moved up one spot to earn the bronze.

World silver medalists Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov of Russia started their Grand Prix season with a gold medal as Skate America continued in Everett, Washington (USA) on Saturday. Teammates Alisa Efimova/Alexander Korovin gave Russia the silver medal also, while Ashley Cain/Timothy Leduc (USA) claimed the bronze. For Efimova/Korovin and Cain/Leduc, these were their first Grand Prix medals.

World champion Nathan Chen (USA) ruled in the Men’s Short Program, taking the lead with a little over eight points to spare ahead of Czech Republic’s Michal Brezina. Julian Zhi Jie Yee of Malaysia upset several well-known competitors to place third in his Grand Prix debut.

Teammates Alisa Efimova/Alexander Korovin made it a one-two for Russia in Pairs Short. German Grand Prix debutants Minerva-Fabienne Hase/Nolan Seegert surprisingly came third.

Czech Skate included the fourth and last Pairs event of the Junior Grand Prix series and the six qualifiers for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final are now determined.
