The third edition of Pure as Ice 2019/20 took place at the first ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating event of the season in Enschede, Netherlands at the Ijsbaan Arena and the official Skaters hotel with the support of the KNSB.
The Pure as Ice campaign skated off at the Skater’s official hotel with the usual ingredients of the Pure as Ice booth that contained all information related to Clean Sport, the interactive leaflet - P.L.A.Y ( Pocket Learning Anti-Doping & You), the Pure as Ice Kahoot! Quiz along with the WADA Play True Quiz and the Pure as Ice Photo booth with some fun props.
The Pure as Ice Kahoot! Quiz was a big success as the Skaters were in their competitive element and kept coming back to compete head-on and beat their teammates and competitiors. It was a win-win for the Campaign as the quiz consisted of important information on Clean Sport and Anti-Doping procedures and this game format would ensure that such important information are etched in the young Skater’s mind for as long as they embark on their international careers as a Skater with a strong affinity towards clean sport. The Pure as Ice Quiz combined learning and fun as it facilitated awareness for clean sport that was witnessed by the ‘ahhs’, cheers & ‘I thought so!!’, ‘Oh that’s how it is’ animated claims by the Skaters. The Skaters and their support personnel also enjoyed the WADA Anti-Doping Play True Quiz.
The much coveted Pure as Ice goodies - NALZA blade covers, dry bags etc. were the highlight of the campaign that was witnessed with many of the Skaters proudly brandishing the same upon winning the quizzes. The Skaters also had the opportunity to have some fun and click pictures at the Pure as Ice Photo Booth and upload the same on their social media platforms.
All in all the Pure as Ice campaign brought Skaters together that stems from the purpose behind Pure as Ice: to unify Skaters in solidarity for Clean Sport, that is the #PUREASICE spirit!!
