The List, which is one of the International Standards that are mandatory for all Signatories of the World Anti-Doping Code (Code), designates what substances and methods are prohibited both in- and out-of-competition, and which substances are banned in particular sports.

The List 2022 was approved by WADA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) during its meeting on 14 September 2021.

The noteworthy changes to the List are summarized in the 2022 Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes.

Substances which are not on the Prohibited List, but which WADA wishes to monitor in order to detect patterns of misuse in sport are listed in the 2022 Monitoring Program.
