Considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the continued negative developments world-wide, the ISU Council has concluded that maintaining the 2020 ISU Congress on the planned dates of June 8-12, 2020 is no longer an option. The same applies to a short-term postponement until later in the summer of 2020. The ISU Council has instead considered a postponement of the Congress to June 2021, if possible to be held in Phuket/Thailand.

The postponement or cancellation of the ISU Congress 2020 requires a 2/3 majority vote from ISU Members who have therefore received the a letter from the ISU President and ISU Director General and the ISU Council consequently asks ISU Members to cast their vote between the following 3 options:

  1. Postponement of the 2020 ISU Congress from June 2020 to June 2021 with the exact date and place to be decided by the Council with preference to be given to Phuket, Thailand. In this case no ISU Conferences at ISU Championships will be organized during the 2020/21 season.

  2. Definite cancellation of the 2020 ISU Congress

  3. Abstain

The ISU Members have until April 6, 2020 to vote.
