In accordance with the Article 21 of the ISU Constitution and ISU Communication No. 2427, elections for the ISU Athletes Commission are to take place in 2022. The ISU has received 8 nominations for the Athletes Commission elections. The list of nominees is available on https://www.isu.org/inside-isu/about/athletes-commission.

The ISU Athletes Commission members for the following disciplines will be elected by their peers at the following ISU Championships:

  1. For the Speed Skating Athlete at the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, CHN on February 4-20, 2022 or at the ISU World Cup Speed Skating Final in Heerenveen, NED on March 12-13, 2022 (to be confirmed);
  1. For the Short Track Speed Skating Athlete at the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Montreal, CAN on March 18-20, 2022;
  1. For the Ice Dance Athlete at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Montpellier, FRA on March 21-27, 2022;

There was only one nomination for the Single and Pair Skating Athlete and one nomination for the Synchronized Skating Athlete so no election will be held at the respective ISU Championships.

About the ISU Athletes Commission

The ISU Athletes Commission members are elected by secret ballot. All accredited Skaters at the respective ISU World Championships shall be entitled to cast one vote. The candidate with the highest number of votes obtained is elected. In case of a tie, new ballots will be distributed to all Skaters for a second round of election. The candidate with the highest number of votes obtained in the second ballot is elected.
