On December 22, 2016 the ISU Council decided to move the ISU World Cup Speed Skating planned to be held in Chelyabinsk, Russia, on March 10-12, 2017. Despite the short notice to find a new host for the event, the Norwegian ISU Member Norges Skøyteforbund, informed the ISU that they agree to host the event.

Today the ISU confirms that the ISU World Cup Speed Skating Final has been allocated to take place on March 11-12, 2017 in Stavanger (NOR). The event will take place over two days, instead of three.

The distances of the World Cup will be the following:
Ladies:            500m, 1000m, 1500m, 3000m, Mass Start, Team Pursuit and Team Sprint
Men:               500m, 1000m, 1500m, 5000m, Mass Start, Team Pursuit and Team Sprint

Following the decision of the Council the ISU Communication 2031 will be updated accordingly.
