With less than a year to go, the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will take place from January 9-22, 2020 in Lausanne (SUI), dubbed as the Olympic capital in the world. The Qualification Systems for all three ISU disciplines (Figure Skating, Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating) have been approved by the IOC Executive Board.

French Figure Skating has a long tradition of successful Men. Brian Joubert dominated the scene for a decade, collecting ten consecutive medals at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2002 to 2011 as well as a World title and World medals. 2011 European Champion and two-time European medalist Florent Amodio is another popular French skater. Now Kevin Aymoz hopes to follow into their footsteps. The 21-year-old looks back at a successful season highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in January.

Following the decision of the ISU Council, the ISU is pleased to announce the dates and locations for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2019/20 and the ISU Challenger Series 2019/20. Additionally, the dates for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2020/21 have also been decided.

Nathan Chen (USA) repeated as World Champion in what was a spectacular Men’s Final at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) on Saturday. Japan’s Yuzuru Hanyu pulled up one spot to claim the silver, his sixth Word medal. Vincent Zhou (USA) took the bronze, his first medal at the World Championships.

Olympic Champion Alina Zagitova of Russia added the only missing title to her impressive resume by striking gold at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) on Friday. Elizabet Tursynbaeva captured the silver medal, becoming the first female skater from Kazakhstan to win a World medal. Russia’s Evgenia Medvedeva earned the bronze medal.
