Russia’s Elizaveta Tuktamysheva clinched her first ISU Grand Prix gold medal in four years, edging out Japan’s Mako Yamashita by 0.26 points as the competition wrapped up at Skate Canada International in Laval, QC, on Saturday. Evgenia Medvedeva of Russia surged from seventh to take the bronze medal.

USA’s Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue danced to their second consecutive Grand Prix gold medal and are the first skaters to qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov of Russia secured the silver medal, while Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier of Canada surged from sixth to grab the bronze medal.

World and Olympic silver medalist Shoma Uno of Japan fought back in the Free Skating to take gold as Skate Canada International continued Saturday in Laval, QC. Canada’s Keegan Messing earned the silver medal and Junhwan Cha of Korea claimed the bronze.

Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres of France skated to their first Grand Prix gold medal with 20 points to spare as the Skate Canada International continued on Saturday. China’s Cheng Peng/Yang Jin claimed the silver and the bronze went to Canadians Kirsten Moore-Towers/Michael Marinaro.

The 2015 World Champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva of Russia skated to a confident lead in the Ladies Short Program at the Skate Canada International in Laval, QC, on Friday. Japan’s Wakaba Higuchi was second and Mako Yamashita third.

World silver medalists Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) came out on top in the Rhythm Dance as the Skate Canada International continued in Laval, QC with the Ice Dance event. Russia’s  Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov were second in the first segment of the competition and Olivia Smart/ Adrian Diaz of Spain came third.

To the delight of the home crowd, Canada’s Keegan Messing took the Men’s Short Program as the Skate Canada International continued with the Men’s Short Program Friday in Laval, QC. World and Olympic silver medalist Shoma Uno of Japan had to settle for second place on the first day, edging out emerging Korean skater Junhwan Cha.
