At age 18 and 20, Aleksandra Boikova/Dmitrii Kozlovskii (RUS) are so young that they are actually still junior age eligible, but they already belong to the best Pair Skating couples in the world and proved that this season and especially at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Graz (AUT).

Boikova/Kozlovskii had won their two ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events convincingly, but in the Final they finished off the podium following a sub-par Free Skating. Coming to Graz, the team from St. Petersburg had their first national senior-level title under their belts, but competition promised to be tough with two-time ISU European Figure Skating Champions and ISU World Figure Skating silver medalists Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov (RUS) competing as well.

Aleksandra and Dmitrii came out to take a commanding lead with a perfect Short Program to “My Way”, earning a level four for all elements and producing a clean side by side triple Salchow and a throw triple flip. The Russians posted a personal best of 82.34 points – which is also a new record score.

Boikova/Kozlovskii nailed it all again in their “James Bond” themed Free Skating and their flawless performance highlighted by jumps, throws, lifts, spin and death spiral was worth another personal best score of 152.24 points. After claiming the bronze in their debut at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in 2019, the young Russian team now took the European crown with a total of 234.58 points and almost 26 points to spare ahead of their teammates, leading Russia to the 16th clean sweep of the ISU European Figure Skating Pairs podium. They also topped the season’s best list of the Pairs with their scores from Europeans.

“It's a big result of a big team. We are so grateful for all who helped us. We are so happy and so excited it was our first international big title,” Dmitrii commented.

“We were not thinking about our points and now we will not think about our points, we just need to do our job and then there will be a good result. We are relieved, we did our job,” Aleksandra noted.
