Adam Siao Him Fa (FRA) brought the European Men’s title back to France after 12 years, in what was an exciting Men’s Final at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships Friday in Espoo (FIN).

Italy’s two-time European bronze medalists Charlene Guignard/Marco Fabbri found the right rhythm to take a slim lead in the Rhythm Dance. ISU Grand Prix Finalists  Lilah Fear/Lewis Gibson of Great Britain are less than 1.5 points behind in second place. To the delight of the home crowd, Finnish dancers Juulia Turkkila/Matthias Versluis came third in the segment.

ISU Grand Prix Final bronze medallists Sara Conti/Niccolo Macii (ITA) seized the lead as the ISU European Figure Skating Championships opened in Espoo (FIN) with the Pairs Short Program. A total of 131 skaters, representing 35 ISU Members, have been entered for this 115th edition of the European Championships: 29 Men, 30 Women, 13 Pairs and 23 Ice Dance couples.

Following a first online selection phase (December 15th -  31st , 2022) during which the public and media could vote on their favorite candidates (see full list here), the 2023 ISU Skating Awards Selection Commission has subsequently analyzed the voting results to finally designate three Nominees for each of the six Award categories.

The two hosts will combine their expertise in the sports and entertainment industries to deliver an exceptional Awards ceremony: behind-the-scenes interviews of world-famous Figure Skaters, breathtaking performances on the ice and live musical acts by international superstars are all on the program.

On December 4, 2022, the International Skating Union (ISU) together with a variety of partners, national federations and skating clubs from all over the globe celebrated the first ever World Ice Skating Day (WISD). This inaugural edition was a success with events organized in 47 countries and at 170 ice rinks worldwide. By reuniting thousands of skaters of different levels, ages and social backgrounds, the ISU has achieved the major goal that underline this initiative: making equal access, diversity and inclusion a reality in the ice skating community – a trend to be set not only over a single day but for the years ahead.

The International Skating Union (ISU) is delighted to unveil the long-awaited list of candidates that are vying for a coveted ISU Skating Awards trophy. The winners will be announced on February 5, 2023 in Zurich (SUI). While the ISU Skating Awards Selection Commission has identified a total of 69 candidates across six categories, the public and media will be able as from December 15th, 2022 to vote for their favorite Skaters, Coach and Choreographer on the ISU Skating Awards online voting platform. Votes can be submitted until December 31, 2022 which will contribute to determining the three nominees in each category - who will officially be announced in January 2023. A new category named “Special Achievement Award” has been introduced for the 2023 edition and will feature one nominee elected by the Commission.
