Speed Skating fans, get ready to mark your calendars! The International Skating Union (ISU) has released its competition calendar for the next four seasons of Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating, and it promises to be an exciting few years for fans of the sport. From ISU World Championships to ISU World Cups, there will be no shortage of thrilling events to watch.

On September 29, 2022, Solène Mazingue (EST) suffered a fall during training at the Ice Academy of Montreal in Canada. She was rushed to the hospital and after a scan, doctors determined she needed surgery to stop internal bleeding in her head. Solène’s is a story of resilience and inspiration. She didn’t let this accident dictate the outcome of her life. Her partner Marko Gaidajenko (EST) has been with her along the way, showing her unconditional love and support.

Team USA skated off with their fifth ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating title as competition wrapped up in Tokyo (JPN) Saturday with the Pairs and Men’s Free Skating. The ISU World Team Trophy featured the top six teams of the 2022/23 season.

The International Skating Union (ISU) has been standing in solidarity with this cause over the years, as part of its ongoing mission to protect the integrity, fair play and ethics of ice skating sports.

Team USA skated into the lead as the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating kicked off in Tokyo (JPN) Thursday with the Rhythm Dance, Women’s and Men’s Short Programs. The ISU World Team Trophy features the top six teams of the 2022/23 season.

The top six teams of the 2022/23 season are set to compete at the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating (April 13-16, 2023) in Tokyo (JPN). Japan leads the qualifiers and is joined by the teams from the USA, Canada, Republic of Korea, Italy and France. The event features ten out of twelve of the medallists from the recent ISU World Figure Skating Championships, that took place in Saitama, Japan. The ISU World Team Trophy is a biennal event.

The International Skating Union (ISU) is proud to reaffirm its continuous commitment to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), a United Nations initiative promoting sport as a vector for peace and social change. Since its launch by the United Nations in 2013, this movement celebrates its 10th anniversary today.

Japan leads the six countries that qualified for the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating (April 13-16) in Tokyo (JPN). The host country that has their new World Champions Kaori Sakamoto, Shoma Uno and Riku Miura/Ryuichi Kihara on the roster will be joined by the teams from the USA, Canada, Korea, Italy and France. The ISU World Team Trophy is a biennal event.

Shoma Uno (JPN) claimed his second World title to cap off a successful event for Japan, as competition concluded at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships Saturday on Saitama (JPN) with the Men’s Free Skating. 

Madison Chock/Evan Bates (USA) danced off with the gold medal as the Ice Dance event at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships concluded in Saitama (JPN) Saturday. 

Kaori Sakamoto (JPN) claimed her second World title on home ice at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, becoming the first Japanese Skater to win back-to-back World titles.

Reigning World Champion Shoma Uno skated to the lead as the ISU World Figure Skating Championships continued Thursday in Saitama (JPN) with the Men’s Short Program. 

History was made in the Pairs event when Riku Miura/Ryuichi Kihara claimed the first title in this discipline for Japan at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) on Thursday.
