Viktor Mushtakov (RUS) won the first individual World Cup gold medal of his career to lead a Russian one-two with compatriot Ruslan Murashov in the men's 500m at the third leg of the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Nur-Sultan on Friday. The Netherlands won their third consecutive Team Sprint with yet another different line-up.

Today, the International Skating Union unveiled the Skating Awards trophy and announced the celebrities that will compose the six-member jury panel for the inaugural ISU Skating Awards.

Ivanie Blondin (CAN) surprised even herself with the first 5000m World Cup victory of her career on Day 1 of the third leg of ISU World Cup speed skating in Nur-Sultan on Friday. Brittany Bowe (USA) took another 1000m win and the Dutch ladies regained their winning ways in the Team Sprint.

Two-time World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) triumphed in the Men’s Short Program at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final Thursday, winning the segment with 13 points to spare. Olympic Champion Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan came second, ahead of France’s Kevin Aymoz.

Olympic silver medalists Wenjing Sui/Cong Han of China edged Russia’s Aleksandra Boikova/Dmitrii Kozlovskii in the Pairs Short Program at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Torino (ITA) on Thursday. Daria Pavliuchenko/Denis Khodykin also from Russia, are currently ranked third.

Alysa Liu (USA) landed a triple Axel-triple toeloop to take a narrow lead in the Junior Ladies Short Program at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Torino (ITA) Thursday. Russia’s Daria Usacheva and Kseniia Sinitsyna came second and third.

2019 World Junior silver medalists Apollinariia Panfilova/Dmitry Rylov led the Russian pairs to a sweep in the Junior Pairs Short Program as the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final continued  Thursday in Torino (ITA). Kseniia Akhanteva/Valerii Kolesov placed second while Diana Mukhametzianova/Ilya Mironov are currently ranked third.

Andrei Mozalev of Russia skated to the lead as the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final opened Thursday with the Junior Men’s Short Program. Teammate Daniil Samsonov follows in second place and Japan’s Shun Sato came third.

Relegated due to a disqualification for two false starts at the first leg of the 500m ISU World Cup Speed Skating, Vanessa Herzog (AUT), the ISU World Speed Skating Champion won the B Division in Tomaszów Mazowiecki only one week later.

Vanessa Herzog (AUT) returns to the 500m A Division, facing nemesis Nao Kodaira (JPN) and classification leader Olga Fatkulina (RUS) in a thrilling ladies' sprint battle at the third leg of the ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Nur-Sultan. In the long distance, Olympic Champion Esmee Visser (NED) hopes to take her chance in the only ladies' 5000m this World Cup season.

After a superlative weekend of racing in Nagoya, Japan, the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating hops over to Shanghai, China for the second installment of its Asian double-header from 6-8 December.
