It is officially summer! While the sun is (hopefully) shining, the skaters keep cool on the ice as they delve into summer practice and training camps. However, some are enjoying their vacation or it’s show time for them.

Quad God having fun

“Quad God” Ilia Malinin is “just having fun” and put out a video with him landing the unreal jump combination of a quad Axel and four triple Axels.

Francesca Lollobrigida (ITA) has given birth to a baby boy! Little Tommaso is already enjoying his first moments on the roller speed skating track in Italy.

 

Kvitelashvili retires

2020 ISU European bronze medalist Morisi Kvitelashvili announced his retirement. He is the first Georgian Skater to win an ISU Grand Prix and the first male skater from Georgia to win an ISU Championship medal. 

“I decided to put my career on hold and try to be a floating free agent. And try to see what I'm left with now and what I'm going to do next. I'm not dismissing the option of coming back, but at this point I've decided to take a break,” Morisi told the ISU.

He names his bronze medal from the ISU European Championships and his medals from the ISU Grand Prix Rostelecom Cup as the highlights of his career. Kvitelashvili also remembers fondly his successful performances at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing and at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2022.

 

Stolz signs with Dutch team Albert Heijn-Zaanlander

18-year-old Speed Skating sensation Jordan Stolz (USA) has joined Dutch team Albert Heijn Zaanlander of coach Jillert Anema and olympic champion Irene Schouten (NED) to prepare for the 2026 Olympic Games. Three-time world champion Stolz will continue to train with his own coach Bob Corby, with Anema and his team providing remote advice. 

 

 

Hubbell and Diaz tied the knot

As we know, life goes on after retirement: 2022 Olympic Ice Dance bronze medalist Madison Hubbell and two-time Olympian Adrian Diaz tied the knot on June 7 in Barcelona, Spain!

US Speed Skater Casey Dawson decided to step out of his comfort zone and ran his first half marathon recently.

During a fall at a race last October, Tifany Huot-Marchand (FRA) suffered an extremely serious injury. Her rehabilitation, however, has defied the medics. She's working hard towards a return to the ice.
