Team Surprise, the oldest synchronized skating team in the Country, has decided to bring their story to a close. 

Russia’s juniors celebrated a gold medal sweep at Czech Skate 2018 in Ostrava, the fifth ISU Junior Grand Prix event of the season. Czech Skate included the fourth and last Pairs event of the Junior Grand Prix series and the six qualifiers for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final are now determined.

Alina Zagitova: "I didn’t get star fever" Alina Zagitova (16) starts into the new season as the reigning Olympic Champion. She debuted her new programs in front on an audience at the test skates of the Russian Figure Skating Federation on September 8 and 9.

In order to have more possibilities to evaluate the quality of elements performed by the skaters, the range of the Grade of Execution (GOE) has been expanded from -3 to +3 to now -5 to +5 in all Figure Skating disciplines.

Anna Shcherbakova (RUS), Marjorie Lajoie/Zachary Lagha (CAN) and Anastasia Mishina/Alexander Galliamov have secured their spot in the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final by winning the fourth event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Richmond, BC (CAN) this weekend.

Russia’s jumping phenomena Alexandra Trusova went for three quadruple jumps at the Amber Cup in Kaunas, Lithuania, the third event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series and became the first female skater to complete a quadruple toeloop-triple toeloop combination in competition.

Figure skating’s loss was very much Short Track Speed Skating’s gain as far as John-Henry Krueger goes. The PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games 1000m silver medal winner was first introduced to the ice at three years old, but it wasn’t about skintight suits and racing skates at that stage…

The favorites prevailed at the Cup of Austria in Linz, the second event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series, with all champions having won Junior Grand Prix events in the past season.

Newcomers from Russia and Canada dominated the first ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating event in Bratislava (SVK).

With only 6 days to go, the post-Olympic season will start on August 23 with the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2018/19.
