Les Suprêmes (CAN) reigned supreme once more at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships and skated off with their third consecutive gold medal as the Championship concluded in Zagreb (CRO) Saturday. 

Hot favorites Les Suprêmes (CAN) edged the Helsinki Rockettes (FIN) for the lead as the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships opened Friday in Zagreb (CRO). A total of 21 teams with 479 Skaters representing 17 ISU Members have been entered for the Championships. It is the 23rd edition of the event that started in 2000.

Les Suprêmes Junior skated the first gold medal for Canada at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships Saturday in Neuchâtel (SUI). A total of 24 teams with 543 Skaters representing 20 ISU Members competed in the Championships. It was the ninth edition of the event that started in 2013.

The ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships take place on March 15 and 16 in Neuchâtel (SUI). A total of 24 teams with 543 Skaters representing 20 ISU Members have been entered for the Championships. It is the ninth edition of the event that started in 2013.

It is with regret and sorrow that the ISU learned of the passing of multiple ISU European Championships medalist, four-time National Dutch Champion and two-time Olympian, Mrs. Joan Haanappel who passed away at 83 years old.

On December 3, 2023, the International Skating Union (ISU), in collaboration with numerous partners, national federations, and skating clubs worldwide, celebrated the second edition of the World Ice Skating Day (WISD). The event was widely hailed as a success, boasting organized festivities in 53 countries and at 130 ice rinks globally (as reported here). 

Further to the International Skating Union’s (ISU) Statement of January 30, 2024 regarding Kamila Valieva (ROC), the ISU takes the discussions within the Figure Skating community and the media with regard to the re-ranking of teams for the Olympic Winter Games (OWG) Beijing 2022 Team event very seriously.    

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) Panel in charge of the case between the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), the International Skating Union (ISU), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva rendered its verdict on January 29, 2024.

The ISU welcomes the decision of CAS and firmly maintains its position that the protection of clean athletes and the fight against doping are of the highest priority and will persist in the ongoing effort to uphold the integrity of fair competition and the well-being of athletes.

On December 3, 2023, the International Skating Union (ISU) together with a variety of partners, national federations and skating clubs from all over the globe celebrated the World Ice Skating Day (WISD). This second edition was a success with events organized in 53 countries and at 130 ice rinks worldwide. By reuniting thousands of skaters of different levels, ages and social backgrounds, the ISU has achieved the major goal that underlines this initiative: making equal access, diversity and inclusion a reality in the ice skating community – a trend to be set not only over a single day but for the years ahead.

On December 3, 2023, the International Skating Union (ISU) will celebrate Ice Skating sports all around the world by launching the second edition of the World Ice Skating Day (WISD). To date, 50 countries on all continents have confirmed their participation in this initiative and will organize a variety of events hand in hand with local skating clubs, rinks and national skating federations in a spirit of inclusion and joy.
