The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series 2021/22 kicks off with Guaranteed Rate Skate America in Las Vegas (USA) this week. Top athletes such as three-time and reigning World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) start their journey to the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing on the ice in Las Vegas.

Following seven weeks of exciting competition at the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series, the finalists have been determined and will head to the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Osaka (JPN) December 9-12.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series 2021/22 features once again the World’s best Figure Skaters. Double Olympic Champion Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN), World Champions Nathan Chen (USA), Anna Shcherbakova (RUS), Anastasia Mishina/Aleksandr Galliamov (RUS) and Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsalapov (RUS), European Champions, Olympic, World and European medalists all compete during a season which concludes with the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing (CHN) and the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Montpellier (FRA).

The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2021 closed its last event before the Final in December in Linz, Austria. Join us as we check out the best images from the event.

Skaters from Russia and the USA dominated the seventh and last ISU Junior Grand Prix event Cup of Austria in Linz (AUT). Georgia and Canada picked up a bronze medal each. The event was also the last chance to qualify for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final.

The ISU Council met on October 1-2, 2021 in Geneva, Switzerland. The full decisions are published in ISU Communication 2431, below is a summary of some of the decisions:

Russia’s Sofia Akateva continued to push the limits in women’s skating becoming the first female Skater to perform a triple Axel and three clean quadruple jumps in one program. The Russian team once again was successful taking home eight out of 12 medals at the sixth ISU Junior Grand Prix event Baltic Cup in Gdansk (POL). Cyprus earned their first medal in the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a bronze. The remaining three medals went to Kazakhstan, the United States of America and the Republic of Korea.

The media accreditations for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2021/21 series are now open.

Eight months, it turns out, is a long time in Figure Skating. Back in the middle of 2020 Laura Barquero and Marco Zandron were so far from performing at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games it barely registered on their radars.

The remaining entries for the Single & Pair Skating and the Ice Dance competitions at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games (OWG) have been allocated according to Rule 400 A. paragraph 4, after the Nebelhorn Trophy, Olympic Qualifying Competition in Oberstdorf, Germany, held on September 22-25, 2021.
