Team USA claimed its fourth World Team Trophy title 13 points clear of the rest of the field as competition wrapped up at the ISU World Team Trophy in Fukuoka, Japan, on Saturday, with Team Japan edging out Russia for the silver medal. The USA, victors in 2009, 2013 and 2015, collected 117 points while Japan had 104 points and Russia 102.

Figure skating is an individual sport where the athletes focus only on themselves – many people tend to think that way, but the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating proves the opposite. Figure skating can be a great team sport. Ever since the event was introduced in 2009, it has been a favorite for many skaters.

The USA, victors in 2009, 2013 and 2015, collected 117 points while Japan had 104 points and Russia 102. 

Team USA strengthened its lead over Japan and Russia as the ISU World Team Trophy continued Friday in Fukuoka, Japan. Team USA now has 91 points heading into the final day of competition, while Japan has 79 points and Russia remain in third place on 70 points. 

Today Ida Hellström from Finland was elected to the ISU Athletes Commission as the Synchronized Skating representative.

Team USA took the lead over Japan and Russia after the ISU World Team Trophy opened Thursday in Fukuoka (JPN). Team USA collected 50 points on Day One while Japan has 48 points and Russia picked up 38 points. 

Chinese Pair Skating stars Wenjing Sui/Cong Han had a short season, but they proved once more that they are the Pair to beat right now by taking gold at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and the ISU World Figure Skating Championships. The charismatic duo has experience with comebacks and they did it one more time this season.

The sixth edition of the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating will take place April 11 to 14 in Fukuoka, Japan. Russia tops the list of the six ISU Members that have qualified for the biennal ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating event.

The 2019 World Figure Skating Champions and the ISU President Mr. Jan Dijkema show their commitment to Sport for Development and Peace by showing a #WhiteCard as a strong symbolic gesture.

With less than a year to go, the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will take place from January 9-22, 2020 in Lausanne (SUI), dubbed as the Olympic capital in the world. The Qualification Systems for all three ISU disciplines (Figure Skating, Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating) have been approved by the IOC Executive Board.

French Figure Skating has a long tradition of successful Men. Brian Joubert dominated the scene for a decade, collecting ten consecutive medals at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2002 to 2011 as well as a World title and World medals. 2011 European Champion and two-time European medalist Florent Amodio is another popular French skater. Now Kevin Aymoz hopes to follow into their footsteps. The 21-year-old looks back at a successful season highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in January.

Following the decision of the ISU Council, the ISU is pleased to announce the dates and locations for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2019/20 and the ISU Challenger Series 2019/20. Additionally, the dates for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2020/21 have also been decided.

Russia leads the six ISU Members that have qualified for the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating in Fukuoka (JPN), April 11 to 14. The ISU World Team Trophy is a biennal event.

Nathan Chen (USA) repeated as World Champion in what was a spectacular Men’s Final at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama (JPN) on Saturday. Japan’s Yuzuru Hanyu pulled up one spot to claim the silver, his sixth Word medal. Vincent Zhou (USA) took the bronze, his first medal at the World Championships.
