Casey Dawson, Emery Lehman and Ethan Cepuran (USA) took home their second World Cup trophy in the Team Pursuit, after also having won the event last season. Team USA had to leave the gold medal in the third and final race this season to Norway, but silver was enough to keep the Olympic Champions at bay in the ranking. Kjeld Nuis became the all-time most successful Dutchman in 1500m World Cup races, while Peder Kongshaug (NOR) took his career first individual World Cup medal in second place.

Ragne Wiklund (NOR) edged out Martina Sáblíková (CZE) by 0.8s to win the 3000m in Tomaszów Mazowiecki on Friday night. With her third win in the fifth of six races, the Norwegian secured the long distance World Cup Trophy, taking an unbeatable 72-point lead over second-ranked Irene Schouten (NED), who was absent in Poland. Earlier on Friday, Kim Min Sun (KOR) maintained her undefeated streak in the 500m this World Cup season.

Jordan Stolz (USA) came, saw and conquered in Inzell, Germany, last weekend. The 18-year-old American had skipped the first two ISU Junior World Cups, because he was busy winning medals at senior level, but won three individual gold medals and a silver at the third and final leg. Stolz thus underlined his candidacy for the World Junior title this week (February 10-12, 2023) on the same track. The Netherlands were the most successful nation in the Junior World Cup Series this season, winning five World Cup rankings. Norway dominated the neo-senior category, winning four World Cup rankings.

A total of 91 Skaters/Couples representing 13 ISU Members have been entered for this 23rd edition of the Four Continents Championships: 22 Men, 24 Women, 10 Pairs and 13 Ice Dance couples.

The Best Coach Award went to Patrice Lauzon (CAN) while Shae-Lynn Bourne (CAN) received the award for the best choreographer. Two-time Olympic Champion and figure skating icon Katarina Witt (GER) was selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
