Les Suprêmes (CAN) successfully defended their title from the challenge of Finnish teams Helsinki Rockettes and Team Unique as the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships wrapped up Saturday in Lake Placid (USA) with the Free Skating.

Defending Champions Les Suprêmes (CAN) took a narrow lead as the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships kicked off Friday in Lake Placid (USA) with the Short Program. A total of 23 teams with 535 Skaters representing 19 ISU Members are competing in this 22nd edition of the event that started in 2000.

Japan leads the six countries that qualified for the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating (April 13-16) in Tokyo (JPN). The host country that has their new World Champions Kaori Sakamoto, Shoma Uno and Riku Miura/Ryuichi Kihara on the roster will be joined by the teams from the USA, Canada, Korea, Italy and France. The ISU World Team Trophy is a biennal event.

Shoma Uno (JPN) claimed his second World title to cap off a successful event for Japan, as competition concluded at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships Saturday on Saitama (JPN) with the Men’s Free Skating. 

Madison Chock/Evan Bates (USA) danced off with the gold medal as the Ice Dance event at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships concluded in Saitama (JPN) Saturday.

A total of 181 Skaters/Couples representing 39 ISU Members have been entered for the Championships: 34 Men and 35 Women, 23 Pairs and 33 Ice Dance couples.

The ISU Council decided to allot the organization of the fifth ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating event to Espoo (FIN) which will take place on November 17-19, 2023 and the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final will return to Beijing (CHN) on December 7-10, 2023.
