ISU eLearning and iCoachKids (iCK), an Erasmus+ co-funded eLearning program, have partnered together to present a series of coaching education modules, specifically focused on coaching children aged 5-12.
This learning is ideal for coaches working with children and young athletes. The first course, with 6 modules, offers an overview of the role of a coach and the benefit of developing effective environments for children in sport/skating. Coaches will learn about the importance of safeguarding and protecting children in general as well as the value of holding a coaching philosophy and vision. There is also a brief explanation of the impact of children growth/development and related aspects to remember when planning developmentally appropriate activities for children.
The first chapter, The Role of the Children’s Coach is available now and new chapters will be released weekly on Mondays!
