The ISU Council is proud to announce the hosts for the Challenger Series in Synchronized Skating for the season 2021/22.

Some of the World’s best Figure Skaters are set to compete at the seventh edition of the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating from April 15 to 18 in Osaka, Japan. Russia tops the list of the six ISU members that have qualified for the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating. The ISU World Team Trophy is a biennal event.  

“I’ve moved myself out of my comfort zone,” says Liam O’Brien (IRL). The 21-year-old left his home country Australia and moved to South Korea three years ago to pursue his Olympic dream. “It’s been a whole change and a different life now, but I love it.”

Olga Fatkulina (RSU) was born and raised in Chelyabinsk, where Speed Skating is a very popular sport. In times of economic hardship and personal despair, Speed Skating was her way out to build a better life. Olympic silver in the 500m at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi is the pinnacle of her career, “So far”, the 31-year-old sprinter adds with her characteristic smile. “But I hope to win more in the future.”

Viewers will be able to watch the ISU World Team Trophy 2021 taking place from April 15- 18, 2021 in Osaka, Japan, either via their national broadcaster / channel and for countries where there are no broadcasters, the ISU will offer a live stream on the Skating ISU YouTube Channel.

Today, April 6, 2021, the International Skating Union (ISU) proudly celebrates the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace for the fourth consecutive year. Sport, peace and unity is more important than ever in these times of crisis.

The International Skating Union (ISU) has prolonged its media rights agreement with Infront for another four seasons. The extension with Infront runs until end the of 2026/27 season and includes coverage in China from the 2020/21 season.

The British Speed Skating couple aims at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing and set up their own coffee company to finance their campaign.

A knee injury kept Short Track Speed Skater Julie Letai (USA) side-lined until mid-October 2020, but Letai bounced back to compete in the Ladies’ Relay at the 2021 ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Dordrecht, the Netherlands.

The entries for the Beijing 2022 were assigned according to the result of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 and the designated Qualifying Event Nebelhorn Trophy which will take place on September 22-25, 2021 in Oberstdorf (GER).
