With less than a year to go, the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will take place from January 9-22, 2020 in Lausanne (SUI), dubbed as the Olympic capital in the world. The Qualification Systems for all three ISU disciplines (Figure Skating, Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating) have been approved by the IOC Executive Board.

The Development Commission invites ISU Members to put forward for consideration the names of Coaches of Speed Skating and Short Track Speed Skating, who fulfil the requirements of ISU Communication No. 2052. Such support is available for a maximum of 4 Coaches.

During its latest meeting which took place on March 17-18, 2019 in Tokyo (JPN) the ISU Council decided to provisionally allot the ISU European Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2020 to Debrecen (HUN) which will be held on January 24-26, 2020.

Following the successful first seminar in the series focussing on the theme of ‘The Healthy Skater’ which took place during the 2018 World Figure Skating Championships in Milan (ITA), the ISU Development Commission and Medical Commission are pleased to announce that the second seminar of the series will take place on the occasion of the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2019 in Zagreb, on Saturday March 9, 2019 from 9:00-11:00.

The ISU noted the reports of abuse and harassment by at least one Korean Coach on Korean Short Track Skaters. The ISU condemns any kind of abuse and harassment on ISU participants and encourages the Korean authorities in their continuation of their investigations and related court decision severely punishing the convicted offenders.
