ISU President's 2016 Year End message

Further to the decision of the 56th ISU Ordinary Congress 2016 in Dubrovnik, CRO, to introduce an ISU Athletes Commission and in accordance with Article 21 of the 2016 ISU Constitution, the composition, election procedure and purpose of the ISU Athletes Commission will be as follows.

In accordance with ISU Synchronized Skating Regulations 2016, Rules 901, paragraph 7 and 903, paragraph 3 - to be eligible for promotion to the qualification as “ISU Judge” for Synchronized Skating, the candidates must have passed the ISU Synchronized Skating Judges Examination.

It is with profound regret and sorrow that we inform you of the death of our good friend and ISU Honorary Vice President Mr. Lawrence Demmy M.B.E.

The ISU is truly appalled and deeply saddened by the findings of the McLaren Report (IP Report).

In accordance with the ISU Synchronized Skating Regulations 2016, ISU Members may send application to hold ISU Seminars for Synchronized Skating Referees and Judges in 2017

Further to the 2016 Congress decision to provide additional opportunities to ISU Member representatives to meet and discuss topics of common interest, the Council agreed to hold a one day Conference per Branch (Figure Skating & Speed Skating) during the season 2016/17.

Following the decision of the 56th Ordinary ISU Congress to create a new Development Commission, the ISU Council has made it a priority to appoint the three ISU Development Commission members in the person of Susanna Rahkamo (FIN), Jildou Gemser (NED), and Tatsuro Matsumura (JPN).
