We are back with the ninth edition of P.L.A.Y (Pocket Learning Anti-Doping & You) and the topic this time is ‘Prohibited List Update 2024’ a topic which deals with the 2024 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods which enters into force on January 1, 2024.
The ISU eLearning platform - named ISU eRink - has witnessed steady growth since it was launched back in 2019. To date it offers over 100 courses covering all ISU sports disciplines and there are more than 6000 users of the platform. ISU eRink aims to be more accessible, relevant, and comprehensive for the skating community from different linguistic backgrounds.
The sustainable development of Skating is dependent on the number and quality of Coaches within the sport. They provide the specialist expertise to improve and maintain the performance of Skaters and they also motivate, inspire and develop individuals. The high quality of coaching integrity, passion and expertise is vital.
We are pleased to announce that English commentary has been added to live streams of ISU Short Track Speed Skating events, following recommendations from the ISU Speed Skating Member Conference in March, 2023. This move aligns with the ISU Vision 2030 to engage a broader audience and enhance the fan experience.

On September 19th 2023, the International Skating Union (ISU) will be participating in the Safeguarding Young European Skaters (SAYES) Conference. This Conference is part of an Erasmus+ co-funded project that aims at protecting young athletes from sexist and sexual harassment in ice skating sports.
As part of its Development initiatives, the International Skating Union (ISU) proudly supported the launch of a Center of Excellence (CoE) Training Camp dedicated to promising young Speed and Short Track Skaters, who will be benefiting from an intensive one-week coaching program at the prestigious National Speed Skating Oval (the “Ice Ribbon”) in Beijing (CHN).
From August 21-27, 2023, the ISU Center of Excellence (CoE) in Beijing (CHN) will be hosting a unique Training Camp dedicated to Speed skaters and Short Track skaters in the world-renowned National Speed Skating Oval – also named the “Ice Ribbon” – which served as the main Speed Skating venue during the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
