The third edition of Pure as Ice 2019/20 took place at the first ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating event of the season in Enschede, Netherlands at the Ijsbaan Arena and the official Skaters hotel with the support of the KNSB.
The first edition of the ISU Pure as Ice 2019/20 campaign kicked off at the ISU World Cup Short Track 1 in the home of the Utah Olympic Oval, Salt Lake City (USA). ISU’s Pure as Ice teamed with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) with the support of the U.S. Speedskating Organizing Committee to deliver the message of Clean Sport to almost 200 Short Track Skaters that arrived to compete in this major Event.

Sleep is the core foundation of recovery and has a direct impact on the performance of Skaters. The ISU eLearning Platform presents a series of modules on Sleep and Recovery, aiming to enable a better understanding on these topics.
In accordance with the ISU Regulations, Rule 417, paragraph 1, ISU Members may send to the ISU Secretariat, with a copy to the Chair of the Ice Dance Technical Committee, applications to host ISU Seminars for Ice Dance Referees and Judges in 2020 fulfilling the characteristics described in this ISU Communication. The deadline for these applications is established as January 1, 2020
This summer a first Figure Skating camp was organized by the ISU in collaboration with MozerTeam. The camp was held in Italy in Baselga di Piné, Italy, from July 25 to August 4. The training camp was attended by 8 couples from 6 countries, as well as 6 coaches from different countries. Every day for 10 days, the athletes trained for 2-3 hours on the ice and three hours off-ice. Continuing the cooperation between ISU and MozerTeam, it is planned to hold two more camps this season.
The ISU would like to remind ISU Members and their Referees that the Referees Reappointment Learning Exercises for Figure Skating International and ISU Referees continue to be available on the ISU eLearning Platform ( https://elearning.isu.org/moodle/index.php? ).

At its meeting on October 11-12, 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISU Council has approved the ISU Centers of Excellence (CoE) concept and next step strategies.
The draw by number for the ISU Figure Skating Championships 2020 was held on October 10, 2019 in Geneva in the presence of ISU Officials, Mr. Olivier Griot, BDO Auditor as well as Leanna Caron from Skate Canada and Mariam Giorgobiani from the Georgian Figure Skating Federation.

The remaining Quota Places for the Single & Pair Skating and the Ice Dance competitions at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) have been allocated after the last event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2019/20.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series will begin on October 18, 2019. It is comprised of six international events plus the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, which will be held on December 5 – 8, 2019 in Torino (ITA).
