ISU eLearning presents a series of modules relating to the essential topic of Strength and Conditioning.
Considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the continued negative developments world-wide, the ISU Council has concluded that maintaining the 2020 ISU Congress on the planned dates of June 8-12, 2020 is no longer an option. The same applies to a short-term postponement until later in the summer of 2020.
The fifth edition of the Pure as Ice 2019/20 took place at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, Estonia at the Viru Sokos hotel (Skater’s official hotel) with the support of the Estonian Skating Union and in collaboration with the Estonian Anti-Doping Agency.
Due to the continued and increasingly negative Coronavirus/ COVID-19 developments, the Council has further reviewed meetings and seminars scheduled to be held between June and August 2020 and decided to cancel all meetings and seminars planned during the period until the end of August 2020.
As one of the very few sports that combine athleticism with artistry, Figure Skating draws on a wide spectrum of musical genres. Music and movement are the underpinnings of the five Program Components, which form the basis of this module.
The ISU wants to support the concerted efforts to proactively limit the risk of spreading the virus and to protect the health of its staff, their families, neighbours and friends.
The revision to the ISTI that came into force on March 1st, 2020 is specifically related to the requirement for urine samples to meet a suitable specific gravity for analysis. Related documents is attached in this News.
We are pleased to announce the third edition of the ISU Healthy Skater Seminar that shall take place during the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2020 in Montreal. The theme for this edition’s seminar is ‘The Role of Nutrition in Performance’ moderated by ISU Medical Commission Chair Dr Jane Moran and supported by selected speakers.
ISU Communication No. 2311 invites ISU Members to make applications for Junior Skater Scholarships in accordance with the new ISU Development Program Communication (Communication No. 2310). The deadline for applications is April 1, 2020.
Due to the further increase in the number of coronavirus cases in South Korea and China the IDTC has decided to postpone the Referees and Judges Seminars in these two countries. The new dates will be published as soon as possible.
In view of the upcoming ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships scheduled to be held in Seoul/South Korea on March 13-15, 2020, the ISU is especially monitoring the situation in the Seoul area.

The online Referee Reappointment Learning Exercises available on the ISU eLearning platform continue to assist ISU Members and their Referees to fulfil part of the Referee Reappointment requirements.
